We recommend CCM Tacks 9060 hockey shin guards to players looking for slightly more protection than the CCM 9550s. The foam is slightly thicker throughout the shin guard and the wrap around the outside of the calf includes additional protection. These shin guards provide an optimal balance of protection, weight and flexibility.

The design of the CCM Tacks 9060 shin guards disperses the force of impacts away from key areas. The kneecaps incorporate the JDP molded-PE knee cap which provide good protection when blocking shots. The shin caps are anatomic-fitting which we like for players who skate with a nice wide base.

The calf area uses a compressed molded foam covered in fabric which helps reduce the weight of these shin guards. Two straps include an upper lock strap and a wide elastic calf strap. The interior of the shin guard has a removable liner with PE foam protection.
